Grandmasters of Tomorrow — The Road to Centre Court

A national school chess and STEM movement.

Don’t just sponsor the final. Build the journey.

Not every learner excels in examinations. Every learner deserves an opportunity to discover their strengths. Chess offers boys and girls an inclusive, engaging way to develop their abilities, build confidence and experience the rewards of strategic thinking.

Scale

Concept stage: the need, the solution and the delivery model are defined. The next step is validation with technical, site and funding partners.

Where it sits in the BRC Nexus

Learning infrastructure. This project builds the human foundation the Nexus serves: young people equipped to think, read and lead.

Not every child is academically inclined, but every child has a genius within.

From school to Centre Court

A proposed national platform

BRC proposes a national platform connecting 100 schools and 5,000+ learners through school chess programmes, giant outdoor chess courts, 10 regional championships and a national final in Johannesburg in July 2027, subject to confirmation.

Targets and dates are proposals for 2026 to July 2027 and depend on securing partners and funding.
